The United Nations Association of Bangladesh (UNAB) was established in 1972, shortly after the independence of Bangladesh, with a vision to promote the principles of peace, progress, and human rights. As a non-governmental, voluntary, and non-profit organization, UNAB is dedicated to advancing the core objectives of the United Nations, including peacebuilding, international understanding, environmental sustainability, and the protection of human rights.

UNAB’s programs and initiatives are designed to address critical global and local issues, engaging leaders from diverse sectors of society to ensure inclusivity and effectiveness. The organization maintains strong collaborations with government bodies, the press, and diplomatic missions that share an interest in the work of the United Nations.

Over the years, UNAB has earned a distinguished reputation within Bangladesh’s academic and social spheres through its wide array of activities. These include lectures, seminars, symposiums, observance of UN Days, debates, competitions, and exhibitions centered on UN-related themes.

Affiliated with the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), UNAB holds the unique distinction of being the sole representative of Bangladesh in United Nations forums. Through its unwavering commitment and impactful initiatives, UNAB continues to play a pivotal role in fostering global solidarity and advancing the UN’s mission in Bangladesh.
