Dr. Syed Mohammad Shahed
SECRETARY GENERAL
Dear Members, Partners, and Well-wishers,
It is with great pride and a sense of responsibility that I address you as the Secretary General of the United Nations Association of Bangladesh (UNAB). Since its inception in 1972, UNAB has been steadfast in its mission to promote the ideals of the United Nations—peace, progress, and human rights—within our nation and beyond. In a world facing unprecedented challenges, from climate change to global conflicts and inequality, the role of organizations like UNAB has never been more critical. We remain committed to fostering international understanding, advocating for sustainable development, and protecting the fundamental rights of all individuals. Our programs, ranging from seminars and symposiums to debates and exhibitions, aim to engage all sectors of society, ensuring that the voices of the people are heard and their aspirations are reflected in our work.
As the sole representative of Bangladesh in the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), UNAB takes pride in its role as a bridge between our nation and the global community. We strive to amplify Bangladesh’s contributions to the United Nations’ goals while addressing the unique challenges we face as a nation. None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our members, partners, and volunteers. Your dedication and passion inspire us to push boundaries and achieve greater heights. Together, we can build a more peaceful, equitable, and sustainable future for all.
Let us continue to work hand in hand, guided by the principles of the United Nations, to create a world where peace and progress prevail.
With gratitude and determination,
Professor Dr. Syed Mohammad Shahed
